Shalini Bajaj Surve

If there was ever a job for the torchbearer of creative newness, Shalini Bajaj Surve would positively have fit the role. How else would you explain a science degree, followed by Human Resource Management, a 17-year-old career in marketing and advertising, an entrepreneurial stint with a children’s book-based subscription box, and now a journey into the world of storytelling.

Shalini believes that stories are a magic spell that can transform kids and adults and as a student of the Diploma Program of Kathalaya’s International Academy of Storytelling, she hopes to continue spreading the powerful magic of stories to people of all ages. 

 A core member of the Mumbai Storytellers Society,  Shalini helps to conceptualize, execute and promote MSS sessions and events. 

She has participated in various storytelling events, represented India at the Kanoon International Storytelling Festival, Iran 2022, through MSS, was part of the core organizing team in the Mumbai Storyteller Society’s, Covid relief fundraiser, ‘ Igniting Hope’ and organized and participated in Gaatha 2023, Mumbai International Storytelling Festival.

Shalini is passionate about bird photography, nature, and dance.
